All 114 Community Garden Plots Claimed
The opening day for our community garden at Sylhet Farm was on Saturday, May 7. We want to thank Detroit City Councilman Scott Benson, Hamtramck Mayor Amer Ghalib, Hamtramck City Council members, and others who showed up in support. We received an overwhelming response, and we currently have all 114 garden plots claimed. A few might be reassigned and made available this week, but it is fun to see people using it and making it their own. We have incredible diversity represented, and it is a beautiful representation of our unique community. It is located at 12500 Joseph Campau, so please visit anytime. The community garden gate is opened at 7 am and closed at 8 pm every day through mid-October.
Due to the incredible response, we had over $2,200 in extra budget expenses to pay for water tanks and more. If you can contribute, we would appreciate it.
