Community Garden (full for 2023 season)

All 114 plots measuring 4’x10’ are full. If you want one, let us know, and if someone doesn’t come to maintain their plot(s), we might have some extra.

The garden gate is opened at 9 am and locked shortly after sunset daily, May 7 - October 7. If you like to go early in the morning, let us know, and we can work out a way for you to access it.

Location: 12500 Joseph Campau, Hamtramck, MI 48212

The community garden is adjacent to the Hope Center on the east side. It is visible off Joseph Campau; look for the red tractor. The plots are marked with numbers we assign (see map for reference).

Important Dates: We will have an opening day ceremony on May 7 from 1-2 pm and our annual potluck on August 12 in the evening. We will send more details about the potluck later. Let us know if you have an idea for a workshop or something fun; we would love to support it.

I’d like you to please use the garden rules for reference as they are intended to help everyone have a better experience. If you can bring your tools and watering cans, that is helpful, as we had people taking them last year when they were left out.

We had issues last year of people taking produce, so we are adding signs to help alleviate that issue. We also have a local groundhog family we are working to relocate.
